Home Description

Description of the home

Want to be a part of a new queer share house in Thornbury? Ali, Ry and I have just secured a beautiful renovated federation-style home and are looking for one more housemate to co-create a big, friendly, wholesome share house family! Available 21 Feb.

Ideally situated close to St Georges Rd (11 and bike lane), Mernda train line and High St, the house has four similar bedrooms at the front and a tonne of shared space throughout the two-level extension at the back. House is currently unfurnished and we will be curating the space together.

Here's the vision:
• Community-oriented group of seasoned sharers
• 30s-40s
• Peaceful/relaxed atmosphere
• Health-oriented (active, cooking, good self-regulation)
• Friendly/positive attitude, able to enjoy both togetherness and solitude
• Mindful consumption (composting, power usage, etc)
• Consideration (cleaning up, noise, etc)
• Proactive communication and care

Your housemates would be:

Ali (he/him), a fan of LEDs, house music and hummus. On his trusty bike, you'll find him at circus meet ups, handstand sessions, house & techno gigs and perusing his favorite Asian groceries. Ali works with not-for-profits as a data professional, 2 days a week WFH, is attempting to learn Brazilian Portuguese and will offer you obscure, experimental cocktails on occasion.

Ry (they/them) non-binary part-time boi who can generally be found hiking, camping, bouldering, cooking up a vego storm, or reading fantasy (everything from trash to high-brow welcome). Works full time in research and will talk passionately about how microbes rule the world.

Chris (he/him) lover of gardening, self-development, yoga and cruising around on his 1989 Peugeot road bike. Currently pivoting from corporate to counselling/psychotherapy. An ideal day would be: morning walk/swim, homemade breakfast, reading over a spicy oat chai, about four hours of client work, yoga, cooking a wholefoods dinner with friends, maybe an episode of something and an early night. Then occasionally a big night out on weekends.

If interested in joining us, please drop me a line with a little bit about yourself, any furniture contribution and what you're looking for in your home life!

Thank you!
