Home Description

Description of the home

Furnished double bedroom with own bathroom/toilet and parking space available immediately in Riverbank, Caboolture South. Rent is $340 a week, inclusive of energy and WiFi bills. Water bills come through quarterly and can be split equally

The room faces out onto the garden and has a queen bed with super comfy, barely used mattress, built in wardrobe, and includes your own private bathroom and toilet with shower and bath. Optional towels and bed linen can also be provided if needed.

The living space air-con is just outside your bedroom so on hot nights can be used to cool your room if the door is left open.

If you need more space, there’s an option to also use the spare fourth bedroom for a negotiable extra cost.

You’ll be sharing with me, Ellie, the lease holder, and my three babies (cats) who I adore. My partner recently had to move to WA for work for a two year contract, due to commitments in QLD I’m unfortunately unable to join her so am looking for a housemate to join me in this house which is far too big for just one person.

The kitties are Colin, Ruby, and Charlie. Colin is a rescued feral boy so will likely leave you be as he’s fairly timid, but Ruby and Charlie are sociable little snuggle-bugs so a cat friendly housemate is a must!

The house is on a quiet street in the Riverbank complex. Morayfield shopping centre is a twenty minute walk or five minute drive away. The local GP/dentist/health centre is a fifteen minute walk away. Woolies/local shops/Aldi are a ten minute walk away.

My bedroom with en-suite and office are at the other end of the house, so you’ll have your own space, private bathroom and toilet, and we can interact with each other as much or little as preferred… the house is plenty big enough to have our own spaces :)

The back yard with covered patio is just next to your bedroom, the patio has a ceiling fan which is so lovely on hot summer evenings. There are also two washing lines (one covered), so plenty of space to dry washing!

I don’t drive/have a car so the garage parking space is yours, as well as the driveway parking space if needed. I also have a spare, large (currently unused) fridge/freezer which you can use if sharing fridge space gets tight.

About the occupants
I’m Ellie, a dual citizen of the UK and Australia, I moved to Queensland from London a few years ago.

I’m 36 a freelance writer currently studying my masters in Public and Social Policy. As l work/study from home, the second bedroom is my home office.

I live with chronic illness and disability, hence my working from home, so spend a lot of time in the house/in my room. It’s important anyone living here understands that and doesn’t find me being home a lot frustrating.

I have clinical OCD so spend a lot of time cleaning the shared spaces, especially making sure the house stays free from cat fur! I obviously don’t expect any housemate to be anywhere near my level of obsessive tidiness, but someone with basic standards of cleanliness is a must! Just someone who respects and maintains their living space ☺️.

Personality wise, I’m pretty quiet due to my illness so early nights in bed with a book/film are the norm for me. I enjoy DIY, decorating, and gardening, so happily fix any odd jobs around the house or garden. I’m passionate about literature, politics, philosophy, and psychology. I also love my cats so can often be heard singing/chatting to them - don’t be alarmed! LGBTQIA+ friendly, non judgemental people are essential as I’m gay and live with disability.
Description of pets
Ruby, a two year old silver tabby (very sweet and social), Colin, a 1.5 year old giant ginger bear cat. Rescued from the streets so he’s quite timid. Charlie, a 6 month old Tonkinese boy who is the neediest, cuddliest cat you’ll ever meet!
