Other information
This semi-detached, 2-bedroom house in Dulwich Hill is quietly nestled in Sydney's Inner West. It is conveniently located close to public transport and shops, with a 10-minute walk to Hurlstone Park Station and a 2-minute walk to buses on Canterbury and New Canterbury Roads. The house is fully furnished, but your room is your personal space. It comes with brand new furniture, or can be left unfurnished—it's up to you. The room includes a desk, a double bed base and mattress, and a clothing rack. The furniture is brand new and not assembled in the room yet. The pictures of the furniture are in my photos. We share a bathroom that features both a shower and a large bathtub, as well as a separate toilet. There is also some storage space downstairs if needed.

Home Description

Description of the home

Cozy Room in a Vintage Dulwich Hill Home with Great Vibes and a Friendly Feline!

A spacious room is now available in a charming 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom semi-detached house in Dulwich Hill. The house and the room come fully furnished with brand-new furniture, but if you'd prefer, the room can be emptied out for you to make it your own.

About the Room & House:

The available room is large, peaceful, and cool, measuring 3.34m x 3m x 2.77m. The house itself has that lovely 1960s vibe, featuring art deco ceilings and stained-glass windows for a bit of character. The house has beautiful wooden floors throughout, with one shared bathroom that includes a spacious tub, shower, and a separate toilet.

It's a ground level house with a few steps on entry, inclusive of kitchen and laundry. There is plenty of street parking, and occasionally we can share the off street parking depending on my workload. It’s nestled off the main roads, so it’s quiet and calm, and both the bedrooms and living areas have reverse-cycle air conditioning for year-round comfort.

I’ve got a furry little freeloader named Neo. He’s either sunbathing like a lounge lizard or plotting world domination via chess. Hypoallergenic, super friendly, and all about the head scratches. But still waiting for him to pull his weight and do the dishes. Typical cat, expects luxury, does zero chores.
Someone who is comfortable giving him some occasional love and some food when I'm away, is a big plus.

Kitchen & Laundry:

The kitchen has a large 5-burner gas stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave, plus all the cookware and utensils you’ll need. The usual shared-house communication is greatly valued when it comes to keeping things clean and organised! The laundry area downstairs has a washing machine, dryer, and a clothesline.

Outdoor Area:

There’s a private patio with outdoor furniture in the backyard, perfect for a quiet retreat or entertaining with friends. There’s also a gas BBQ you’re welcome to use.

We’re a quick 5-minute drive to Ashfield for major shopping, with a smaller supermarket about a 10-minute walk away in Hurlstone Park. The train station is also a 10-minute walk, with buses just minutes away.

If this sounds like the kind of place you’d enjoy living in, please send me a message or give me a call to arrange a time to take a look at this lovely house!

Bills and expenses

Gas, electricity, and water are split evenly each quarter (usually about $45/week per person). I currently use my phone data for internet, but if needed, we could get an NBN plan (around $12.50/week per person). We can decide together if we’d like a cleaner now and then, or just share the cleaning ourselves to save some money.

About the occupants
Hi, I'm Isaac, 43, from Sydney. I work freelance in the photographic and film industry's, so work random hours and days, as well as travel jobs hear and there ;) I'm am easy going and down to earth. Definitely love a good laugh. Humour and fun are high on my values, along with honesty and kindness. I try to be environmentally conscience, where possible in the house. Recycling and composting etc
I enjoy dinning out, or ordering take away, and cooking up a storm when I have the time. I do love going out to music events, festivals and comedy or whatever's entertaining. The occasional house party (dress ups optional), is definitely a possibility, but it's not a regular party house. You are most welcome to join in if I'm hosting a shindig. I like to invite friends over occasionally for dinner, drinks, games night or just watching movies. I am also very mindful and respectful of other peoples boundaries/needs and space. Communication is the key. I'm tolerant and patient and flexible, at the best of times. I do appreciate keeping a tidy house for both of us to enjoy, mainly in the communal areas. Your help with this shared equally would be appreciated.
Regarding cooking I’m very happy to occasionally share meals if thats something that interests you? But also happy to do our own thing. Whatever works for us. ;)
Compatible people
Looking for a like minded legend to watch the sunset from the back patio, with a bbq and a beer or a cucumber and a water. ;)
Ideally, I’m looking for another down to earth, easy going character to join me, in my home. I value honesty, kindness, humour, fairness, flexibility, respect and cleanliness. Somebody who is switched on and mindful, who is also respectful, would really tick a lot of boxes for the type of person I'd like to live with. If that resonates with you, then we will probably get on well. ;) It'd be great to find someone who is on a somewhat similar wavelength. But not a deal breaker.
Looking forward to meeting you! ;) Send me a message or call to arrange a time to view the house.
Description of pets
Meet Neo, my 3-year-old Russian Blue king. He’s neutered, vaccinated, and living his best life with an ego to match. This little guy’s got the best temperament—playful, curious, and a master at stealing your heart (and the couch). He’s all about the snuggles and scratches.
