The upstairs room is a great size for a couple at 3.8 x 4.3m with a huge built in robe along one wall. We also have a spare bedroom/lounge room downstairs which is currently set up as a second living room/arts and crafts area which can be either be left as a second living area or a shared crafts/arts/office area depending on what the incoming tenants prefer. Happy for you to work from home in that room as long as I can occasionally use my sewing machine in there after hours 😊

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a couple (or open to a single housemate if you're happy to pay) to fill the master bedroom in our Collingwood house. Rent for the room is 1850 per month for the room + bills split equally. Available now. Tenants will need to go on a lease (for whatever period of time you prefer) and pay a bond.

Situated near Hoddle and Johnson streets, it's a great area near a bunch of public transport options, shops, bars etc. The house is around 150 years old but has been renovated multiple times over the years so it's got some cracks on the walls etc, but the landlord is great and has put some work into the house recently - power saving heat pump hot water system, air conditioning units in the bedrooms and a new stove/oven. The house has one bathroom with a shower and a toilet. There's no off street parking, but there's usually plenty of parking available nearby. The house is fully furnished for the most part (except for the room), but can maybe negotiate swapping out some furniture if you've got some (could definitely do with a couch or two!). We'll also be putting a small shed in the yard soon so I can dye textiles from home, which you will also be free to use for any craft projects etc you may have. Please do note that the bedroom and main living area are up a flight of quite steep stairs.

About the occupants
You'll be living with me, Tat - 28 year old woman working in textiles who enjoys video games, music, board games, going out for drinks or gigs with mates, and various arts and crafts. I also have two cats and a Shetland Sheepdog. Please only apply if you also love animals - they are all on the older side and very well behaved so shouldn't cause any issues, but they are a non-negotiable part of the house either way.
Compatible people
I'm ideally looking for a reasonably sociable couple late-twenties or older of any gender/orientation, who would enjoy occasionally sharing a meal or drinks and watching TV/movies together. I try to keep the house clean and tidy and would appreciate someone who will do the same. I would prefer someone without pets (definitely no cats) but would maybe accept an older, calm dog.
Description of pets
Rigby is a 10 year old Shetland Sheepdog who loves a pat and a walk. Elsie is an 8 year old longhair cat who also loves a cuddle or a play with a wand toy. Wally is a 12 year old longhair cat who would LOVE to sit in your lap and can be a little loud sometimes due to being completely deaf. They are all very well behaved (no counter surfing, accidents in the house, food stealing, excessive barking etc) and relaxed. They are also all long haired so while I do vacuum weekly it's hard to completely prevent fur being around the house.
