Home Description

Description of the home

Looking for a friendly and reliable housemate for a master bedroom with private ensuite in a beautiful cottage home just outside of Geelong CBD. Located on a neighbourly street where everyone stops for a chat and looks out for each other, the house is a less than 10 minute walk to South Geelong station and University Hospital Geelong and a 15-20 minute walk to the waterfront, Botanic gardens, shops, restaurants, cafes and GMHBA Stadium.

The master bedroom is situated at the front of the house looking out onto the garden and comfily fits a queen size bed, has an attached private bathroom and large in-built wardrobes for everything you could possibly store. The rest of the shared spaces include a large kitchen with a Belling oven, two living areas with great lighting (one looks onto an outdoor fern garden that can be lit up at night and the other opens up into a large courtyard), bathroom with laundry and bathtub, a verandah and a double garage for off-street parking. The house offers ample room to make this place your own, including a WFH office. Plus, our real estate agent is welcoming of pets - pet friendly features of the home include doggy and cat doors and lots of indoor and outdoor space for pet toys/beds and exercise.

Rent is $285 per week/$1,238.40 per calendar month, not including bills.

My current housemate is moving out because she bought her own home so move-in date is flexible throughout November.

About the occupants
Hello! I am a single 31 y/o woman with over 10 years experience living in sharehouses. I work in public mental health and in my free time, I am often out and about enjoying coffee, walks, op-shopping and catching up with friends. At home, I love making art, cooking and having a chat but I am also respectful of personal space and downtime. Previous housemates have described me as considerate, generous and a great conversationalist :)

Our neighbours are really warm and helpful people who have described our street as "magical and really special". That's because we are a community of people who support one another, whether that is by dog-sitting for one another or having each other over for dinner or helping each other when we are in need of something. If you are someone who would love to be a part of a broader, caring community, let's have a chat.
Compatible people
While being friendly and feeling comfortable to hang out together is important to me, I am looking for a reliable and responsible housemate first and foremost - someone who is willing and able to contribute to their fair share of bills and cleaning. I am also politically progressive, including being a part of the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent community and a First Nations ally, and I hope you are too.
