Home Description

Description of the home

Virtually brand new 4-bedroom house. Large living room fully furnished (see pics)...rumpus / gym room, included unlimited broadband. Beautifully quiet suburb - forest walking paths across the road - bus close by leading quickly to Gungahlin town centre (light rail connection if you don't have a car). If you do have a car, you'll be able to park in the garage...which is pretty awesome when Canberra is "Winter is Coming" a storm.

Also, feel free to text or call no problems at all...if we're both free I'm more than happy to give you a Facetime / Skype tour so you can see whether you'd like to make the trip to see it in person.

Double bed with side tables and lights (brand newly bought by me) with plenty of storage. The house is large long-wise, so my room and study is down one end and yours is down the other...in that regard when you see "shared bathroom / toilet"...it's a house with 4 bedrooms (two of which have their own ensuites [not this room being advertised]...so they're yours basically, including a MASSIVE bathtub. Everything is just new, shchmick and fairly unfaultable. I've furnished the whole myself fully, including brand new washing machine and dryer. I'm a professional consultant working from home and also out at times as COVID lifts. I'm an ex-Navy officer so very used to living communally...the concept of do your thing as you like whilst letting me do the same is about all that I can say on me as a housemate. Give me a call or SMS anytime and see if you'd like to check the place out.

About the occupants
There are 3 of us currently living in the house. Housemate No.1 (me), I'm a 36-year old ex-Navy officer of 13 years service and currently do Contract work to Defence. COVID has been a bit rough so my usual Work-Gym-Eat-Sleep routine is a distant memory, but I like to stay fit...so I simply ordered and use a gym and $2k spin bike, all set up in the loungeroom so you can watch you're Netflix / Stan (all included for free) as you like.
Housemate No. 2 is Jacob. He is 22, launching what looks to be a very successful career in high-end hotels (his current job). He is also a professional singer and not afraid to belt out a song or 5 lol...he's an amazing kid and has a big heart.
Housemate No. 3 is Cathy who is 61 but looks 49 and is the heart of the house. She is very caring, tough, and will blow your mind if you manage to make friends with her with her cooking (she used to run a sushi franchise) before retiring. She is with us whilst her new unit in Belconnen is currently being built...which I hope won't be completed for a very long time!
I can tell you for a fact that we've all covered for each other, helped out, gave a helping hand and all the rest many times over. That all being said, the house is so big you can be guaranteed privacy and quiet if you just want to be on your own.
Compatible people
I’m looking for authentic, responsible and friendly applicants. I have fully furnished all the rooms in the house with brand new furniture…so, if things work out...I’ve literally had people moving in on the same day we’ve met. I work hard to make "our" house feel like "your" home-away-from-home and we've got a good crew going (sadly our 4th housemate is leaving us to move into his own new townhouse). You can be as different as you like, so long as you clean-as-you-go and all the other normal communal living stuff. The house is always very clean...but it's just because we all do our little parts in a free "do what you like as long as it doesn't impact anyone else negatively" kind of way (i.e. we don't go to war if someone accidently drinks someone else's milk ;-) ).
I've had several housemates who have had troubles (past and ongoing), which is of course your own business...simply because I've been hit a few times because I haven't known about parole issues or mental ailments...I'd respect you more and be more likely to ask you to move in if you were up front about it rather than not. None of us are perfect. 😊
Description of pets
Timmy, the resident Maltese Shitsu who's loyalty goes to whoever gives him more attention...he loves to have a cuddle with anyone all the time and during a normal day, you'll see him do his "rounds" of each space in the house to say hello, get a pat and scratch and then leave again.
