You will have your own bathroom (including a bath tub and separate toilet); however, if I have guests they would likely need to use that bathroom/toilet temporarily. My guests would be rare and would not stay longer than a few days. I would clean your bathroom afterwards.

If you have guests, with prior communication they can stay in the the spare room, which has a king single trundle that can be made up into two single beds. Home Description

Description of the home

The home is in a quiet townhouse complex of 35 townhouses. The room is part of a two-storey townhouse with three bedrooms upstairs. You would have your own bathroom that includes a bath and separate shower and a separate toilet. The house has a gas hot water heater (i.e., "always on"). Fans and reverse cycle air conditioning in the open-plan lounge room. I park in the driveway. The garage is used for storage (which you're welcome to also use for storage) and the kitty litter, and can house bikes and motorcycles. I have a plethora of cleaning appliances (including roombas) and tons of kitchen appliances. I have a composter, a WeberQ, a massive TV perfect for bingeing on Netflix, and comfortable electric recliner chairs. I have a 10kg washing machine (can do doonas) and there is a toilet downstairs. I tend to compost where I can but am not fanatical about it. There is some parking on the townhouse street but otherwise there is ample parking on Cowie Road, which is quite a quiet street. The house is fully equipped, so you do not need to supply anything except your own personal effects and furniture for your room if you chose.

The home is 1km from the bus stop at Beams Rd. It is less than a 2km walk (25 min) to Carseldine Central (Woolworths, Chempro, etc) and the Clock Corner Shopping Centre (mostly health suites). It’s 1.7km (22min walk) to the Carseldine train station. I am literally right next to a small park and 500m from an off-leash dog area.

Brisbane City Council only allows a maximum of three cats in a townhouse, so unfortunately I cannot take on anyone with cats. If you have a dog, I would have to talk to the landlord about it. The cats aren't terribly familiar with dogs but seem to tolerate them alright.

I have the lease until mid January 2025 and I'm likely to request a further extension of the lease after that.

About occupants
Hi, I'm Suzie, an Aussie/Scottish mutt. I am 39 years old. I grew up in the Whitsundays then the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane but then spent 11 years in Melbourne and moved back to Queensland mid-2021.

I am a health professional but have taken leave to sort out health and personal issues. I aim to slowly get back into work in the next few months. I am a quiet introvert but can socialise well and love to host dinner parties and I use the WeberQ regularly. I am working on getting back into my fitness, as I previously enjoyed a vast variety of physical activities such as the gym, dancing, beginner gymnastics, beginner martial arts, bicycling, yoga, etc. I am an avid reader, watch far too much Korean drama on Netflix, am starting to learn the keyboard, want to learn Korean and re-learn Indonesian, can speak conversational Swedish, love cooking (although less motivated when I live by myself), play card/board games, and I regularly visit my family on the Sunshine Coast. Someone who wants a gym/walking buddy would be cool.

My furbabies (three cats) are the loves of my life and they are spoilt rotten.
Compatible people
I'm looking for a quiet housemate who doesn't mind some socialising with me but can respect my need for space. Your friends/family are welcome as it will be your home as well and I want you to feel comfortable. Partners staying overnight is fine within reason, and family/friends staying in the guest room for a visit is also fine within reason. I am after a person who can communicate assertively and effectively about any issues so that the household remains harmonious; communication is key! I'm looking for someone who is neat and tidy and willing to do their share of the household chores weekly (the roomba vacuums and robot mop do a lot of the work!). Happy to share meals (no dietary restrictions on my end) and common household items. Also happy for each of us to do our own thing.

Please note: Alcohol and I are not friends, so regular heavy consumers of alcohol please do not apply (light or occasional drinkers will be considered). No drug users. A non-smoker is preferred, but an outdoor smoker is not a deal-breaker.
Description of pets
I have three fat indoor-only cats who are very friendly and extremely lazy. The twins, Max and Maddie, are 12-year-old tuxedos, and Sheldon is a 11-year-old grey tabby. They tolerate dogs well (so far). They are domestic short-hair cats so they don't shed too much. You MUST like cats. You have to agree to NEVER let them outside. I won't ask often, but occasionally I might ask that you feed them / look after them if I have to go away for a few days. If you do not like cats and are not willing to occasionally look after them, then please do not apply. These are my furbabies and I love them to death.
